Who Are WeDisciple Life Ministries is an evangelistic, reform, revival and disciple making ministry that seeks to encourage and foster true Christianity and true discipleship within, and in spite of, the prevailing lukewarm and worldly Evangelical and Emerging Church cultures in America. We are a subsidiary of Prayerlife Ministries, a registered and tax exempt 501(c)(3), non-profit organization, formed by Mark Calhoun in 2002, accountable to a board of directors, and based in Southaven, Mississippi. ConvictionsThe ministry was birthed out of a heart-wrenching burden divinely placed upon our hearts for:
MissionDisciple Life Ministries seeks to foster reform of, and spiritual awakening in, the lukewarm church in America, and to rescue those who think they are saved but are not. Our ultimate goal is to move lukewarm Christians beyond the boundaries of cultural or “acceptable” Christianity to becoming true and fully surrendered followers of our Lord Jesus Christ. With this purpose in mind, we seek to expose and warn about the unbiblical trends and teachings that effect, impact and compromise true Biblical Christianity, by comparing them with Scripture. We also seek to refresh, relieve, and encourage those true saints around the world who suffer for their uncompromising faith and witness. Ministry Objectives• To expose false teaching and practices by comparing them with Scripture. Motto"To warn the many, disciple the true, expose what’s false, encourage the few." Methods & ToolsWe accomplish our mission by utilizing various methods and tools of outreach including this website, books, newsletters, tracts, and other publications; and by conducting revival services and speaking in churches; participating in and hosting conferences, seminars, and Bible studies; and by building True Disciple Fellowship groups. We also hope to form a non-profit foundation from which to refresh and relieve suffering Christians around the world through tangible forms of assistance. MotivationWe are sincerely motivated out of loving obedience to God’s leading, and compelled by a deep and genuine burden for the lukewarm and worldly condition of the church and for so many professing Christians who think they are saved, but who have never truly been born of the Spirit of God. We also are compelled by a burden to refresh God's suffering people around the world. We do these things as unto the Lord and not unto men, that the Lamb might be glorified in his church and people. LongingWe long for the day when the Evangelical church in America, generally speaking, is more willing to pay the cost of cultivating God’s manifest presence then it is to cultivate the presence of worldly seekers at any cost; more burdened to preach the truth and see lives transformed than compromising it to be relevant; and more compelled to call men to repent and count the costs than to offer up a cheap gospel that does not offend, to offset costs. |
